ABOUT

Thomas Cotton is a trailblazer dedicated to disrupting the cycle of incarceration and poverty. For over 25 years, he has empowered people to overcome life’s obstacles and thrive. As the visionary behind two influential entities, Redemption & Advancement Alliance, Inc. and Next Level Freedom, LLC, he continues to leave a lasting mark on the field.

Mr. Cotton is a leader who authored the transformative core curriculum Rethink Lyfe. For nearly 15 years, this resource has been a valuable tool in nurturing the dignity and development of the most important part of the change process - the person. His core belief centers on the person’s immense ability to grow when their mindset is reshaped, true values embraced, and strengths are developed. The key to sustainable change is to prepare and support the person for progressive growth.

In 2018 Thomas became a Caregiver Empowerment Trainer for the State of Georgia’s foster parents. Thomas got involved with parent engagement through his work with the formerly incarcerated and expanded once he became a foster parent because of the similarities in the obstacles of family engagement. He uses trauma-informed care and personal development as the keys to strengthening relationships.

He has also been a featured speaker and voice for groups and forums at Emory University School of Public Health, Emory University Candler School of Theology, Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia State University, and many churches and community organizations.

Beyond his organizational endeavors, Mr. Cotton is a sought-after expert who has lent his wisdom to numerous organizations, institutions, universities, churches, and boards. His dedication to unlocking human potential continues to inspire and catalyze change in diverse settings. He graduated from Morehouse School of Medicine with a master’s degree in justice-involved care.

Isaiah 66:9 Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the Lord. “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God.
