DR.  BRIAN EASLEY, PH.D

ABOUT

Brian has over 30 years of professional/managerial experience in the areas of human resource development, career development, and organization development. He retired after 20 years of service in the federal government where he served concurrently as the departmental Chief Learning Officer and Chief Diversity Officer for the United States Department of Transportation in Washington, DC. Previously, he served as the Training Officer/Branch Chief for the Department of Treasury’s Bureau of Fiscal Service. He has also worked in a variety of non-profit, consulting, and academic organizations.

 

He holds a Ph.D. in Human Development, with a Concentration in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development from Virginia Tech, an M.Ed. in Student Development in Higher Education (Guidance and Counseling) from Howard University, a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and an A.A., Medical Assistant from the Community College of the Air Force. For his dissertation, he conducted a case study that examined the developmental networks of African American women senior executives while applying the concepts of Black Feminist Thought and Developmental Support Network theories. Brian is qualified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and has worked with a variety of other assessment tools.

 

Brian was born and raised in the projects of Harlem, New York, and after his time in the U.S. Air Force lived in Boston, MA. He is a former 30-year resident of Prince George’s County Maryland where he and his deceased wife raised their two children. After retirement, Brian relocated to the Atlanta Georgia area. He now volunteers with multiple organizations in the area to promote healthy masculinity, mentorship, and fatherhood. He is the lead coach for a 14-week evidence-based virtual program, A Father’s Place Prince George’s County. With Grace Baptist Church he serves as Co-lead for the Outreach Ministry, facilitator for the Men’s Connections Group, and is active with the Men’s Ministry. He also plans to assist the church with career development and establishing a mentoring program. Brian is also a volunteer with Father’s Matters ATL where he is a member of the speaker’s bureau and the Inner Healings group. He is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is enthusiastic about saxophone jazz, fantasy football, the WNBA, and community service. He values faith, family, and friends.
